Terrifying moment snake falls on man carrying child at Maharashtra waterfall

A family’s outing at a waterfall in Maharashtra turned frightening when a large snake suddenly fell from above and landed on the shoulders of a man who was holding a child in his arms.

X user Basker Reddy shared a video of the startling incident, which appeared to have taken place at Amboli waterfall in Maharashtra.

In the clip, the family was seen gathered around the rocks at the base of the cascading waterfall, with some sitting while others stood nearby. They appeared to be enjoying the outing when, without warning, a large snake came falling from the rocks above and landed on the man carrying the child.

The sudden movement sent those around him into panic. People screamed and quickly moved away from the spot, while the man holding the toddler also appeared to react to the unexpected encounter.

The later parts of the video showed people scrambling across the rocky stream bed, with one person bending down to look closely between the rocks, seemingly trying to locate the snake.

The man recording was heard screaming, "It's a very big snake, it's a cobra."

While the caption of the post claimed that the snake appeared to be a cobra, its species could not be independently confirmed from the video.

With monsoon waterfalls attracting large crowds, users stressed the need for visitors to maintain a safe distance from rocks, vegetation and areas where wild animals could be hiding.
