One terrorist was killed in an ongoing anti-militancy operation in Kashmir’s Budgam district, the Army said on Tuesday (September 29, 2026) night.
A spokesman said a joint search operation was launched by the Army, J&K Police and CRPF in the general area of Korag, Yousmarg, in Budgam, “based on specific intelligence input”.
“Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire during which one terrorist neutralised,” the Army said.
The Army said the operation was in progress. The identity and affiliation of the slain terrorist could not be established immediately.
