'The Last Sunrise' star Fernando Lindez reveals Filipino roots - GMA Network

Spanish actor and “The Last Sunrise” star Fernando Lindez has revealed that he has Filipino roots.

“The mother of my grandmother is from the Philippines. I have Philippine roots,” he told Kapuso journalist Lyn Ching.

Lindez also shared that he had previously visited the Philippines, including Siargao, and even spent New Year’s Eve in Manila.

“Oh my God, crazy party. I loved it there,” he said.

“The Last Sunrise” is a 2026 romantic drama based on Anna Todd’s novel of the same name. The film follows Ry (Maia Refiecco), a 22-year-old college student with a chronic illness, who travels to Mallorca with her overprotective mother.

Feeling like her health and family circumstances have kept her from fully experiencing life, Ry begins to break out of her shell after meeting Julian, a charismatic local played by Lindez.
