Following a robust opening weekend that yielded Rs 33.60 crore, the folklore fantasy thriller The Vvan - Force of the Forrest, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, faced its crucial first-Monday test at the domestic box office. The film registered a steady hold on Day 5, collecting Rs 5.25 crore nett across India.

According to trade tracking portal Sacnilk, the Tuesday figure (as of 9:03 am) reflects a 63.41% drop compared to its Sunday peak of Rs 14.35 crore — a standard post-weekend trend for mid-to-high budget theatrical releases. More significantly, the film maintained a reasonable holding power against its opening Friday haul of Rs 8 crore, dropping by 34.38%, the report mentioned. This takes the film’s total four-day India nett collection to Rs 38.85 crore (grossing over Rs 46 crore nationwide).

Having crossed the Rs 30 crore benchmark within its first three days, The Vvan now needs to sustain momentum across Tuesday and Wednesday to secure a solid First Week total above the 50 crore mark. Trade analysts note that holding evening and night occupancy rates in mass circuits will be critical before the second-weekend line-up arrives.

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra with Manu Anand serving as Director of Photography and Visual Director, The Vvan - Force of the Forrest centres on Rishi (Sidharth Malhotra), a rational, Mumbai-based engineer who returns with his wife Mamta (Tamannaah Bhatia) to his ancestral village in Devanchal, Bihar, during the Chhath Puja festival. When Rishi defies the village’s age-old prohibitions regarding a forbidden forest, he unintentionally awakens an ancient divine force, setting off a clash between modern rationality and supernatural folklore.

The ensemble cast features actors Sunil Grover, Anup Soni, Shweta Tiwari, Manish Paul, and Milind Gunaji in pivotal roles. The film is joint-produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar, and Niraj Kothari under the banners of Balaji Motion Pictures, TVF (The Viral Fever), and 11.11 Production.
