The mother of Mr. Sylvester Idowu, the THISDAY Correspondent in Warri, Delta State, Madam Felicia Adetola Idowu, will be laid to rest on October 30, 2026.

The mother of Mr. Sylvester Idowu, the THISDAY Correspondent in Warri, Delta State, Madam Felicia Adetola Idowu, will be laid to rest on October 30, 2026.

Madam Idowu died on August 4th, 2026 after a brief illness in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. Sylvester is the first child of the deceased, who passed on at the age of 85.

The family, in a statement, expressed shock at the death of their mother who, in the past years, became the matriarch of the Late Mr. James Bayo Idowu family of Winjobi compound of Osogbo in Osogbo Local Government Area of Osun State.

“We never thought our mother could be called home by her maker too soon. 

She was an epitome of love to her family, a care-giver to many children and young ones that came her way,  a woman leader and a devout Christian,’’  the family said in the statement signed by Sylvester Idowu.

According to the statement, funeral rites for the deceased will hold at the family’s country home in Osogbo, Osun State on October 30, 2026.
