A monsoon low over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast is likely to move westward, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Friday. Under its influence, Karachi Division may receive thunderstorms and light rain from September 14 to 16, with showers expected to occur at intervals, the department said. “Thunderstorms and light rain may occur in Karachi Division during September 14 to 16 with occasional gaps,” the PMD said. {{pdf}} The system is also expected to bring dust-thunderstorm rain to several districts of Sindh, with a few moderate to isolated heavy falls likely in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal and Tando Muhammad Khan from the evening of September 13 to September 16. Light to moderate dust-thunderstorm rain is forecast in Sanghar, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jamshoro from September 14 to 16, also with occasional gaps.
