Ticketless woman tears her clothes to falsely accuse TTE, passenger records it all

A woman travelling without a ticket on a train from Danapur to Prayagraj tore her own clothes during an argument with a ticket-checking staffer in an attempt to accuse him of misbehaviour. However, a fellow passenger had recorded the entire incident on his phone, exposing the episode.

A video of the incident, which took place on September 17 on the Danapur-Secunderabad Express, has gone viral on social media. The woman, who was travelling with a girl child, can be heard arguing with the ticket-checking staff and threatening to implicate him.

The incident took place between Danapur and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction in Uttar Pradesh.

According to railway officials, the checking staff were inspecting tickets in the train's second AC coach after it left Danapur. When they asked the woman to show her ticket, she was unable to produce one. She was asked to get off the coach but she subsequently moved to a third AC coach.

The checking staff later reached the third AC coach, where the woman was sitting with the child. Officials said she continued to argue with them and refused to get a ticket despite repeated requests.

A video recorded by a passenger sitting across from her shows the woman telling the TTE that she was willing to pay, while the staffer responds that a valid ticket was required. At one point, the woman says she is calling her brother, claiming that he is also a TTE. She then appears to search for a railway police helpline number on her phone and tells people around her that she would "trap" the TTE.

The video then shows her tearing her own clothes. She can be heard making threats and abusing the ticket-checking staff. The TTEs, meanwhile, are heard discussing informing railway control about the incident.

When the train reached Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction at around 4 pm, RPF personnel, who had been alerted by railway control, were present at the station. The woman was taken off the train and questioned by the RPF team.

The passenger who had recorded the incident then showed the video to the railway staff. The footage showed the events leading up to the woman tearing her clothes.

According to railway officials, the woman identified herself as Radhika Tiwari and was travelling from Danapur to Prayagraj. She was eventually issued a ticket along with a fine and allowed to leave.

S K Verma, one of the ticket-checking staffers, said the staff were unaware that the incident was being recorded by another passenger. He said the recording helped establish what had happened inside the coach.

Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya rail division PRO Vishwanath said the woman was found travelling without a ticket in the second AC coach and later moved to the third AC coach when asked to get one. "The checking staff repeatedly requested her to get a ticket, but she did not do so. The staff then informed the divisional control," Vishwanath said.

He said the train was attended by an RPF women's team when it reached Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction and the woman was taken off after no ticket was found. Vishwanath also said the woman later paid the prescribed fine and got a ticket.
