The Election Commission of India’s (ECI) Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which began in Bihar in June 2025 as an exercise to clean up electoral rolls, has since struck more than 13 crore names from the draft rolls across 30 States and Union Territories. The exercise has placed the poll panel at the centre of an intense public debate over its role in determining who remains on the electoral rolls — and, consequently, who can vote.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will host Tarang Shakti-26, the second edition of its largest multinational air exercise, at Air Force Station Jodhpur from September 26 to October 12. Around 40 countries are expected to participate, with India, Australia, Bangladesh, France, the US, Germany, Sri Lanka and the UAE taking part in aerial operations, tactical training and interoperability drills.
