A tornado hit Wanning City, south China's Hainan Province, on Monday morning.

Based on on-site surveys and weather analysis, the local meteorological department said wind speeds reached Force 11 to 12, snapping numerous trees.

A school affected by the tornado is actively organizing cleanup and recovery efforts.
