Toronto police identify woman wanted in Scarborough jewelry robbery, seek male suspect - Toronto Star
Police say the victim was approached in parking lot by two strangers asking for directions.
Toronto Police released this image of a woman wanted in connection with a robbery in June.
Toronto Police Service is asking for the publicโs help in locating a female suspect and identifying a male suspect in a robbery investigation.
Police said in a media release on Saturday that they responded to a call on June 26 for a robbery in the Ellesmere Rd. and Midland Ave. area.
Police said the victim was walking in the parking lot of a commercial building when the female suspect called to the victim from her vehicle requesting directions.
The male suspect then drove into the parking lot next to the victim also requesting directions, according to police.
The female suspect then exited her vehicle and placed a fake gold chain around the victimโs neck and, while placing the fake chain, she ripped off the victimโs personal chain, according to police.
Both suspects then fled the area in vehicles.
Andreea Ispas, 23, is wanted for robbery. She is described as approximately 5โ5โ, with a slim build and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black dress with white trim at the bottom and white shoes.ย
The male suspect remains unidentified.
