Sanphet inspected the readiness of piers along the royal barge procession route, outlining measures to facilitate convenience and safety for the public attending the royal reception on 6 Nov.

Today (4 Nov 2026) at17:00Sanphet Boonyamanee, Deputy Minister of Transport, visited the piers along the royal barge procession route to check on convenience and safety measures for the royal merit-making ceremony for the Kathin robe offering. The procession will take place at Wat Arun Ratchawararam on Friday, 6 November 2026.

Sanphet said the Ministry of Transport prioritizes public safety. During this visit, he instructed the Marine Department to closely inspect water infrastructure, especially piers on both sides of the Chao Phraya River, to ensure a smooth, dignified, and safe reception for attendees.

The Marine Department has completed repairs and improvements of all piers along the royal barge procession route to ensure strong, stable structures ready to support large public use.

Additionally, officers have been assigned at 44 piers from Krung Thonburi Bridge (Sang Hi Bridge) to Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge, totaling 105 personnel. They will provide assistance, manage passenger density, and strictly control safety during boarding and disembarking.

To facilitate public travel, the Marine Department has coordinated with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) to offer free shuttle bus services for passengers traveling to the piers and royal ceremony area.

At the same time, water traffic control will be enforced on 6 November 2026. All vessels are requested to avoid navigating the Chao Phraya River segment from Krung Thonburi Bridge to Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge and Phra Pok Klao Bridge from 11:00 a.m. until the royal ceremony concludes. The public and vessel operators are advised to plan their travel accordingly.
