Reports of a TTC track-level trespasser led to two separate delays Friday in service on the Bloor-Danforth line.

Reports of a TTC track-level trespasser led to two separate delays Friday in service on the Bloor-Danforth line.

The TTC’s Line 2 subway runs along the underside of the Prince Edward Viaduct that rises about 40 metres over the Don Valley.

A subway train was stopped for around 30 minutes on the Prince Edward Viaduct midday Friday after reports of a trespasser on the tracks.

It was the second trespassing-related delay of the day. Toronto police said that the two incidents appear to be connected.

The train, heading east from Castle Frank station to Broadview station on the bridge that rises about 40 metres over the Don Valley, was one of several Line 2 trains stopped as a safety precaution.

“As with any report of a trespasser, we must cut power and check the area in question to ensure it is safe to resume service,” TTC media relations said in an email to the Star.

Around 11:30 a.m., the TTC stopped Bloor-Danforth service between St. George and Chester stations. Service resumed just after 12 p.m.

Service was earlier halted between St. George and Chester from 6:45 a.m. and 8 a.m. due to a similar trespassing report.

TTC confirmed around 12:30 p.m that the suspected trespasser was in police custody. Toronto police did not confirm if charges would be laid.
