Tribal man injured in elephant attack at Nilambur in Keralam

A tribal man working as a forest watcher was injured in an elephant attack at Poolakkappara in the Nilambur South Forest Division in Keralam on Monday morning.

According to forest officials, Keeran from Poolakkappara hamlet had entered the forest along with a group of friends to collect gooseberries when the elephant suddenly approached him. He reportedly did not notice the animal until it was too late. The elephant struck him with its trunk, throwing him to the ground.

Keeran sustained injuries to his shoulders and legs and was taken to the Government District Hospital at Nilambur. Hospital sources said his injuries were not serious.
