Trump makes absurd claim about Greenland in closing midterms pitch - The Independent

Donald Trump claimed the United States has been “given” Greenland during a rambling, last-minute midterms pitch on Fox News.

The president phoned in to Fox & Friends on Tuesday (November 3) as Americans went to the polls, and made some eyebrow-raising comments.

“Europe has been good. Remember, they just gave the United States the greatest gift we were ever given. Do you know what it was? Greenland,” Trump said.

One of the hosts pointed out it was a military deal, but by that point Trump had weaved into other topics.

The strategic island remains a territory of Nato ally Denmark. The US, Denmark and Greenland have signed an enhanced security agreement after months of threats from Trump to buy or take the territory.
