For many Filipinos, access to credit is often associated with addressing immediate financial needs. Yet when used responsibly, credit can also serve as a stepping stone toward achieving long-term goals, creating opportunities, and building financial confidence.

This is an effort Home Credit Philippines continues to champion among its customers, many of whom have leveraged accessible financing solutions not only to manage life’s unexpected challenges but also to pursue personal and professional aspirations.

One such customer is content creator Christy Tabanyag, widely known online as “Miss Deliciousness,” whose financial journey reflects how responsible borrowing and disciplined repayment can help open doors over time.

Long before building a strong social media presence, Christy was working as a call center agent while helping support her family. Like many Filipino households, financial priorities often revolved around balancing daily needs with future ambitions. Her relationship with Home Credit began in 2017 when she financed her first smartphone. Shortly after purchasing the device, it was unfortunately lost. Despite the setback, Christy remained committed to paying her installments on time.

Years later, that decision would prove significant.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, both her father and grandmother required hospitalization simultaneously, placing considerable financial pressure on the family. Faced with mounting medical expenses, Christy turned to Home Credit for a Cash Loan, made available through her long-standing customer relationship and record of responsible repayment.

“The funds were credited almost immediately, and I was able to use them for my father’s and grandmother’s hospital expenses,” she said.

The experience underscored a broader reality for many consumers. Maintaining a positive credit history can provide access to financial solutions when they are needed most, whether for emergencies, planned purchases, or future investments.

After successfully repaying her emergency loan, Christy continued to build on her financial track record. In 2020, she applied for another loan, this time to purchase her first iPhone, a tool that would eventually support her transition into content creation.

“I bought my dream phone, an iPhone XR, as I began my content creation journey in 2020,” she said. “It was the first iPhone I ever owned and it became an integral part of my journey as Miss Deliciousness. The support that I received from Home Credit gave me the confidence to feel financially secure while responsibly managing my loans.”

The device became a key enabler in producing content and growing her digital presence, ultimately contributing to the development of her personal brand and online career.

Today, despite achieving greater financial stability, Christy continues to value the importance of maintaining a positive credit history.

“If you’re planning to apply for bigger loans someday, lenders often look at your credit history,” she said. “That’s why maintaining a good credit record is something I really value.”

For Home Credit Philippines, stories such as Christy’s highlight the role responsible lending can play in supporting customers throughout different stages of their lives.

“At Home Credit, we are committed to helping Filipinos not only address their immediate needs but also build pathways to their future aspirations through accessible and flexible financial solutions, and responsible credit management. Christy’s experience shows how responsible use of Home Credit products and services can help customers establish a positive financial track record while working toward their long-term goals,” said Jana Pechouckova, Senior Executive Vice President of Home Credit Philippines.

As more Filipinos seek ways to navigate financial challenges while pursuing personal ambitions, the ability to build and maintain a strong credit history remains an important foundation for future opportunities, helping transform financial access into long-term progress.
