Tusshar Kapoor gets Rs 5-crore extortion call, caller poses as Bishoi gang member
Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor received an extortion call from a man claiming to be Harry Boxer, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who demanded Rs 5 crore.
The actor approached the Mumbai Police following the threat, prompting the matter to be handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch.
The Crime Branch's technical team analysed the audio recording of the call and compared the voice with an official sample of Harry Boxer available in its database.
According to senior police officials, the preliminary analysis found a mismatch between the two recordings, leading investigators to suspect that the call may have been a hoax.
Police suspect that an unidentified person may have invoked the Bishnoi gang's name to intimidate the actor.
They are now trying to trace the person who sent the threatening audio recording. - Ends
