Two persons have been arrested by the Kalamassery police for allegedly drugging and gang-raping a woman at a lodge at Edappally, Kochi, Keralam. The arrested are Sreeraj, 30, of Karthikappally, Alappuzha, and Jith Martin, 27, of Thrikkakara, Ernakulam.
The two were arrested and remanded in judicial custody on Sunday, two days after the alleged crime took place.
Police sources said the woman was called to the lodge on the pretext of arranging a job for her at a spa in the city. The accused allegedly forced her to drink alcohol and consume drugs before sexually assaulting her.
The police suspect that the men are part of a sexual racket linked to some spas. More arrests are likely in the case, according to police sources.
