Two bus passengers held for possession of illicit arrack near Katpadi

Two persons were arrested after the police seized 10 litres of illicit arrack on board a bus in Christianpet village on Saturday. The accused S. Babulal Kashyap, 25, and R. Bhumesh Kashyap, 24, hailed from Chhattisgarh and were travelling on a state transport corporation bus from Tirupati to Hosur.

The police found the contraband when the bus halted at the check post near Katpadi during a vehicle check. The accused allegedly said they were taking it to Hosur, where they were working in a private company, for selling to workers.

The two were arrested and lodged in Central Prison Vellore. A case was registered by Katpadi Police.
