Two held with 21.2 kg ganja, 1 litre hash oil near Kacheguda railway station

Two alleged interstate drug peddlers were arrested with 21.2 kg of ganja and one litre of hash oil near Kacheguda railway station, police said on Saturday.

The accused were identified as Pangi Satish Kumar, 29, a labourer from Alluri Sitarama Raju district in Andhra Pradesh, and Pangi Ganesh, 29, a labourer from Koraput district in Odisha. The two are cousins.

Police said the duo had come to Hyderabad with the drugs, intending to sell them to customers and make easy money. Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, Secunderabad Zone team, along with Kacheguda police, apprehended them near the parcel office at Kacheguda railway station.

The police seized 18 packets of ganja weighing about 21.2 kg, one litre of hash oil and two mobile phones. The seized material was valued at approximately ₹23 lakh, police said.

During questioning, the accused allegedly told police that they had purchased the hash oil and ganja from a person identified as Loknath, a resident of Odisha, who is currently absconding. Police said further investigation was under way to trace Loknath and establish the source and intended recipients of the drugs.
