The record of 151 straight wins sits as a goal every program around the country aims to shatter. As unlikely as it is, there were several notable winning streaks entering the season that were impressive in their own right.

On Friday night, Sept. 11, two of those winning streaks came to an end.

Lincoln Christian (OK) and Star Valley (WY) each suffered double-digit losses, ending winning streaks that had surpassed more than 30 games.

Prior to the season kicking off, only five other teams had a winning streak that was longer than Lincoln County. The Bulldogs entered the season with 44 straight wins and extended that streak to 46 with back-to-back wins to open the year.

They played Shiloh Christian (AR) Friday night and quickly fell behind by 13 by halftime. Lincoln County didn't score in the second half while Shiloh Christian added on two more touchdowns to secure a resounding 41-14 win, stopping the streak at 46 games.

Star Valley, meanwhile, boasted a 33-game winning streak entering the 2026 season and opened its season with an impressive road win at Soldotna (AL) before having the week off. The new week wasn't kind to the Braves though.

Sugar-Salem (ID) led by 14 at the half but the Braves made it a one-possession game with a touchdown in the third quarter. That's all they would manage though as Sugar-Salem tacked on six more points in the fourth quarter, clinching the 27-14 win.

With Lincoln County and Star Valley's streaks over, three of the 10 longest winning streaks entering the season have been snapped. Christian Brothers Academy (NY) was the first to see its end as Iona Prep ended its 42-game streak with a 38-18 victory earlier this season.
