UFC 332 results: Marvin Vettori's losing skid hits five fights vs. Ismail Naurdiev - MMA Junkie

Marvin Vettori's career hit another new low at UFC 332 when his losing skid hit five consecutive fights against Ismail Naurdiev.

Former middleweight title challenger Vettori (19-10-1 MMA, 9-9-1 UFC) was in desperate need of a victory against Naurdiev (26-8 MMA, 5-3 UFC) on Saturday at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, but he couldn't get back on track.

Naurdiev won the fight by unanimous decision with a scores of 29-28, 29-28 and 29-28.

Naurdiev chewed up Vettori's leg with nasty kicks in the opening minutes of the bout, and the Italian was fighting from behind from thereon out. It looked like it might be a short night, but Vettori gained some momentum back by making the second round highly competitive.

It was all up for grabs going into the third round, and it was Naurdiev who stepped up. Naurdiev landed some hard strikes and mixed in takedown attempts, and while Vettori hung in it, he couldn't land the big shot he needed to swing the result in his favor.
