His victim Saturday on the prelims at UFC Fight Night 289Β at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, Josiah Harrell (11-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC), will wind up on the all-time highlight reel for Brener (17-6 MMA, 4-3 UFC).
A wicked right took Harrell off his feet, but not backward. He stumbled back, then forward and set himself up for Brener to get a few more shots in for the end with 46 seconds left in the opening round.
Brener hadn't won in nearly three years and was on a three-fight skid. But before that, he had back-to-back bonuses for finishes βΒ and the way he took Harrell out will have him in the hunt for $100K.
