UFC rapidly books Bilal Hasan again, this time for marquee event - MMA Junkie
Bilal Hasan has been on the roster for just a little over a month, and he already has his second fight booked, as he'll take on Luis Gurule at UFC 334. The event takes place Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. MMA Fighting first reported the matchup Friday.
Hasan (10-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC), along with fellow episode mate Anthony Wint, have become the poster children for the current season of Dana White's Contender Series. After a powerful 45-second knockout of Mridul Saikia that earned him a UFC contract on the show, Hasan knocked out fellow promotional debutant Nilson Rojas in his promotional debut. He'll try to keep his red-hot momentum alive in "The World's Most Famous Arena."
Gurule (11-4 MMA, 1-4 UFC) aims to bounce back from a first-round submission loss to Rei Tsuruya in May. Two weeks prior to the Tsuruya loss, Gurule picked up his first UFC win against Daniel Barez. Gurule has largely proven to be a worthy test for all takers, only having been finished twice in his pro career.
