Police have registered a case against an underage car driver for allegedly causing a fatal traffic accident near Metro Bridge on Sharae Faisal, while a woman accompanying him has been arrested for allegedly attempting to mislead investigators by claiming responsibility for the crash.
The Artillery Maidan police registered FIR on the complaint of Sulaiman, elder brother of 19-year-old Zeeshan, who was killed when his motorcycle was hit by the car on Friday. The FIR names the underage driver, identified as Shamroz, as the main accused. His female companion, Sadia, has been nominated and arrested for allegedly misleading police.
According to police, Shamroz fled the scene shortly after the collision. When police arrived, Sadia was sitting in the driver's seat and allegedly told officers that she had been driving the car and was responsible for the accident. She was taken into custody and shifted to the police station.
Meanwhile, Zeeshan's brother and friends reached the police station and protested, with Sulaiman telling police that Sadia was not driving the car and that an underage boy had been behind the wheel.
