UP law student found dead after birthday party, injuries spark murder suspicion

An 18-year-old law student was found dead in a drain in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district. Rohan had attended a friend's birthday party and did not return home.

Rohan, the son of a village head Vivek Rathi, was found with injury marks and bruises on his body, raising suspicion that he may have been beaten to death.

According to the police, information was received on Thursday that the body of a man had been found in the drain. A team reached the spot and identified the deceased, following which his family was informed.

The family members arrived at the spot and identified Rohan after his face was cleaned.

He had gone to a friend's birthday party on Wednesday evening but never returned home.

Muzaffarnagar SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma has formed three teams to investigate the case and identify those responsible.

The teams are examining CCTV footage and using GPS and call detail records (CDRs) as part of the probe.- Ends
