The accident took place at around 10 am on September 15 in the Refinery police station area on the Agra-Delhi Highway.

The woman - Monika Vanijya – was travelling to Vrindavan with her husband Anshu Vanijya when she fell from the scooter and was run over by a tractor carrying bricks.

According to the details available, Anshu was riding the scooter while Monika was seated behind him. The couple had left Agra in the morning to visit the Banke Bihari temple as part of their birthday plans.

While they were travelling along the highway, Monika reportedly fell from the moving scooter after she became drowsy and had a brief moment of sleep.

A tractor loaded with bricks was travelling behind them at the time and ran over her after she fell onto the road.WOMAN DIED ON SPOT, MAN SEVERELY INJURED

Monika died at the spot due to the impact. Anshu also lost control of the scooter and was thrown towards the side of the highway, where he collided with a divider. He sustained injuries in the accident.

The tractor driver fled the scene with the vehicle after the crash. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and sent Monika’s body for post-mortem examination. Anshu was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police are searching for the tractor and its driver.

Monika and Anshu had been married for around three years. Their relationship had begun as a love story around five years ago, and the couple married on April 23, 2023. After their marriage, both worked at Bajaj Finance in Agra’s Baluganj area. Monika worked in tele-calling.

The couple had planned the Vrindavan visit to mark Monika’s birthday. However, the celebrations turned into mourning after the family received news of the accident.

Monika’s body was brought to the family home in Katra Wazir Khan, in the Etmaduddaula area, at around 6:30 pm. Her relatives were inconsolable after seeing her body, while Anshu was also left devastated by his wife’s death.

Her last rites were performed at around 8 pm the same day.
