Vanuatu government yet to publish COI report on patrol boat grounding ABC News & Headlines – Australian Broadcasting Corporation
It has been nearly a year since the Australian-gifted patrol boat RVS Takuare hit a reef and had to be sent away for repairs.
A Commission of Inquiry report has been handed to the Vanuatu government, but it's not clear when, or even if, any details will be released to the public.
Transparency International Vanuatu CEO Dr Willie Dokon says the people deserve to know what went wrong.
"[The] Council of Ministers is a decision body for the government and for the people of Vanuatu," he said. "We need to know what decisions are made. That's transparency, that's good governance."
