Video: Drunk techie ploughs car into pedestrians, they fall like bowling pins

A software engineer was arrested after a car allegedly rammed into a group of pedestrians in Hyderabad's Kamala Nagar, under the limits of the Kushaiguda police station, in the early hours of September 29.

In CCTV footage accessed by India Today, a group of men are seen walking along a street. Moments later, a car comes from behind and topples them over one by one, like bowling pins.

According to police, the accused, identified as Pawan, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when the car hit pedestrians walking along the roadside. Another person was also present in the car at the time of the incident.

The accident left seven people injured, including three who suffered serious injuries. The victims were reportedly part of a group from Bihar.

The injured were shifted to a hospital in the ECIL area for treatment.

CCTV footage of the incident reportedly captured the car hitting the pedestrians and has since surfaced on social media.

Kushaiguda police arrested Pawan and the other person who was travelling with him. Further investigation is underway.- Ends
