Video: Teacher slaps student several times over inappropriate note; expelled

A video showing a student being slapped repeatedly by a teacher inside a coaching centre in Jaipur has gone viral on social media, triggering protests by students and tension outside the institute.

The incident took place at Kalam Academy on October 2. According to the information available, teacher Praveen Dan Charan assaulted a student inside the coaching centre after becoming angry over a note that reportedly read, “Kalam balidan mangta hai” (Kalam demands sacrifice).

The demonstration was led by youth leader Manoj Meena, with a large number of students gathering outside the coaching centre.

The protest later turned tense as police personnel were deployed outside the coaching centre. Police and protesters reportedly clashed during the demonstration.
