Video: Woman points gun at father after he refused to verify her car loan request
A family dispute over car loan verification turned violent in Ghaziabad’s Sahibabad area, where a woman was seen pointing a pistol at her father and sister-in-law and threatening to shoot them. The incident, which reportedly followed an argument over the father’s refusal to verify the loan, was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the house.
According to the complaint filed by the accused’s father, Hitesh Tomar, the incident took place around 5 pm on September 8 at a house in Vrindavan Garden Colony. Tomar told police that his daughter, Priyanka Tomar (30), who had been living away from the family home for around two-and-a-half years, arrived at the house along with a female friend.
The two reportedly spoke to Tomar about verification required for a car loan that Priyanka had applied for.
When he declined to carry out the verification, an argument broke out between the father and daughter. The disagreement allegedly escalated into verbal abuse and a physical altercation.
Priyanka is also accused of assaulting her father during the confrontation. Her sister-in-law intervened, following which she too allegedly became involved in a scuffle with the accused.
The commotion attracted the attention of neighbours, who reached the house. Priyanka and her friend subsequently left the spot, according to the complaint.
Police said the situation escalated further when the woman allegedly returned around 25 minutes later with her friend.
She is accused of forcing her way into the house after bringing down the main gate. Once inside, she allegedly brandished a pistol at her father and sister-in-law and threatened to kill them.
The CCTV footage from the house reportedly captures the sequence of events.
In the video, the woman can be seen holding up a pistol while confronting the two family members. The footage is being examined by police as part of the investigation.
Fearing for their safety, Tomar and his daughter-in-law reportedly moved to the first floor of the house to protect themselves. The accused woman and her friend subsequently left the premises, police said.
A case was registered at Sahibabad police station on September 9 against Priyanka Tomar and her friend on the basis of the father’s complaint.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sahibabad) Amit Saxena said police teams were conducting searches to locate the accused.
Police are also examining the CCTV footage and other available evidence. Further legal action will be taken after the accused are apprehended, and the evidence is assessed, officials said.- EndsPublished By: Vivek Published On: Sep 11, 2026 17:26 IST
