Vikram's Power House promo is family drama, humour and violence rolled into one
Actor Chiyaan Vikram’s next film, which was tentatively referred to as Chiyaan 63, has now been titled Power House. The makers unveiled the title promo on Monday, September 14, on the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi, offering a glimpse into the Anand Shankar directorial.
The promo introduces a curious mix of domestic drama, humour and violence, while hinting at a darker side to Vikram’s character. It opens with a back shot of the actor carrying a plantain thar into an old-style house. Mekha Rajan, Subash Selvam and Samyuktha Hegde are then seen reporting to him after completing the tasks assigned to them, hinting at a catering service setup.
Vikram appears to play a caretaker who handles weddings and confidently offers a “100% guarantee” for the events he oversees. Riya Shibu of Sarvam Maya fame is introduced as his niece, with the promo presenting her as someone who is often lost in her own daydreams.
The lighter tone continues in a kitchen sequence featuring Urvashi and VTV Ganesh, who are seen exchanging banter while preparing a meal. However, the mood changes when Vikram heads to the store room to fetch some stocks.
The promo reveals what it describes as his “Anniyan” side. Two severely injured men are seen lying inside the room, while Vikram calmly mops up the blood. The sequence hints that beneath his seemingly ordinary exterior lies a mysterious and ruthless man.
On the technical front, Power House has Santhosh Narayanan as its composer. In its latest announcement post, Sathya Jyothi Films also tagged cinematographer RD Rajasekar, Gopi Prasanna, who is also serving as production designer, and costume designer-stylist Poornima Ramaswamy.
Produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner, Power House also stars Shammi Thilakan. The film marks another collaboration between Vikram and Anand Shankar after Iru Mugan, which released in 2016.
Iru Mugan, which also starred Nayanthara and Nithya Menen, received mixed reviews upon release but went on to fare well at the worldwide box office. Reports at the time pegged its global earnings at around Rs 100 crore.
Riya Shibu, meanwhile, had previously produced Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, which released in theatres in March last year. With Power House, Vikram and Anand Shankar are teaming up again for a film that appears to combine the actor’s family-man image with a much more dangerous alter ego.- EndsPublished By: Sanjay Ponnappa CSPublished On: Sep 15, 2026 11:49 ISTALSO READ | Chiyaan Vikram's reel with exotic monkey sparks probe, actor deletes video
