Vivo is preparing to launch several smartphones this month, including a foldable. Two of the devices – Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 FE – are confirmed to debut on October 6, while the Vivo X Fold 6 is rumoured to break cover on the same day alongside them. Notably, the Vivo X Fold 6 was already launched in China a few months ago. Now, the foldable is finally making its way to the global market, including India. Thanks to the rumour mill, key details about the upcoming devices, including pricing, were revealed ahead of their official debut.
The Vivo X Fold 6 was launched in China in four colourways: Blue Hole, Salt Lake, Polar Night, and Black Gold, but reports suggest global buyers may only get to see the foldable in two colours – Blue and Black.Vivo X Fold 6 and Vivo V80 expected pricing
An online Italian retailer – Etpo’s website – first revealed the purported price of the Vivo X Fold 6. It shows a price tag of €2,038.90 including VAT (approximately Rs 2,21,616). And excluding VAT, it’s €1,671.23 (around Rs 1,81,674) respectively.
As for the Vivo V80, tipster Abhishek Yadav has claimed on X that the Vivo V80 could start at Rs 63,000 in India. The leaked pricing suggests three storage options, with the 8GB RAM and 128GB variant expected to cost Rs 63,000. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model could be priced at Rs 70,000, while the top-end 8GB RAM and 512GB version could cost Rs 80,000. Vivo, however, has not confirmed these prices yet.
While the Vivo X Fold 6 has already launched in China, we can take a closer look at what the phone might carry in its global or Indian version based on the leaked listing and the specifications of the Chinese model. The foldable is expected to feature an 8.02-inch AMOLED display with a 2504 x 2312 pixel resolution. The Chinese version also comes with a 5,000-nit peak brightness and a hinge rated for up to 600,000 folds.
Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset, paired with a customised version of the processor designed for foldable phones. The leaked listing mentions an octa-core processor with a clock speed of up to 4.21GHz, although it does not name the chipset.
For photography, the X Fold 6 could feature a 200-megapixel primary camera, along with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. It could also get a 20-megapixel front camera. The Chinese model supports Zeiss camera features and a 200mm telephoto extender that can offer higher levels of optical zoom.
The battery could be another highlight. The leaked listing mentions a 6,900mAh battery with 80W wired charging, while the Chinese version packs a larger 7,000mAh battery. The lower figure in the listing could simply be the rated capacity rather than the typical capacity.
On the software front, the global version is expected to run Android 17, although the exact software skin could vary by market. The foldable could also retain an IP58/59 rating for dust and water resistance. These specifications are based on leaks and the Chinese model, so the final India or global specifications could be different.Vivo V80 spaces and features
