Vote counting set to begin - NHKニュース

Vote counting set to begin Vote counting for the US midterms is expected to begin shortly. Americans are deciding who to send to Congress to help, or hinder, President Donald Trump's administration.

Voting began across the country on Tuesday. The first polls, in Kentucky and Indiana, were scheduled to close at 8 a.m. Wednesday Japan time. The elections are widely considered to be a referendum on the Trump administration. His approval ratings have reportedly fallen significantly over the course of this term.High prices and the ongoing conflict with Iran have allegedly soured some parts of the electorate. The key question is what impact that will have on Republicans and whether they can retain control of both chambers. A Democrat majority in either one would make it difficult for Trump to advance his agenda.
