China's top diplomat Wang Yi held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday in Beijing. During their talks, Wang said the current situation in the Middle East continues to be turbulent, and seriously endangers international peace and development. Noted that China and Iran are comprehensive strategic partners, he said China is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with Iran.

In response, the Iranian Foreign Minister briefed Wang Yi on the latest developments in the Middle East and the Gulf region. He said Iran does not wish to see the conflict continue, urging the United States to honor its commitments.
