Want EPFO updates on WhatsApp? Here's the step-by-step guide to join
If you often find yourself checking for updates on your provident fund, there is now another way to stay informed. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched an official WhatsApp channel for its members and pensioners.
The retirement fund body announced the move through a post on X, asking members to join its official WhatsApp channel for important updates and useful information.
EPFO has also shared a direct link to its WhatsApp channel. So, members do not have to keep checking the EPFO website or its social media pages for every new announcement.HOW TO JOIN EPFO'S WHATSAPP CHANNEL
Joining the channel is fairly simple. Open WhatsApp and head to the Updates section. Under the Channels section, select Explore and search for “EPFO”.
Once the official EPFO channel appears, select it and tap on Follow. You will then start receiving updates shared by the organisation on WhatsApp.
Members can also join the channel through the direct link shared by EPFO. If you open the link on a computer, it may open in a separate window. On a mobile phone, the link will take you directly to WhatsApp.
At the time of writing, the official EPFO WhatsApp channel had around 111K followers.
The new channel is aimed at making it easier for members and pensioners to access information from EPFO. It will carry official announcements, updates about EPFO services and other developments that may be relevant to members.
EPFO has also shared a video containing a QR code, which users can scan to join the WhatsApp channel.
For members, the move offers a more convenient way to keep track of updates. Instead of regularly visiting the EPFO website or checking its social media accounts, they can simply follow the WhatsApp channel and receive information there.EPFO'S ONLINE SERVICES CONTINUE AS BEFORE
While the new WhatsApp channel will make it easier to access information, it does not replace EPFO's existing online services.
Members will still need to use EPFO's designated digital platforms for formal services such as filing PF claims, checking claim status and accessing their PF passbook. These services are also available through platforms such as the EPFO member portal and UMANG.
EPFO also has a WhatsApp helpline through which members can seek help with issues related to their provident fund accounts. These include delayed or rejected PF withdrawal claims, PF transfer problems, missing employer contributions, KYC-related issues and other EPF queries.
The launch of the official WhatsApp channel is another step towards making EPFO updates more accessible to its large member base, particularly those who rely on their phones for everyday digital services.- EndsPublished By: Jasmine anandPublished On: Sep 15, 2026 14:30 IST
