Watch: SRK, Ranbir, Alia roast each other in new ad. Fans want a film together

Actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s new ad has left fans excited to see the trio together. While the three stars are yet to headline a film together, they have once again teamed up for a new Rungta Steel advertisement, and this time, they are not just selling TMT bars. They are also roasting each other.

The three stars, who have previously appeared in advertisements for the same brand, come together in the latest commercial alongside actor Bijendra Kala. The ad begins with Kala pitching a rather unusual idea: Shah Rukh, Ranbir and Alia dancing to Akshay Kumar’s hit track Hookah Bar from the 2012 film Khiladi 786. The trio politely smiles at the suggestion before deciding that they can come up with something better.

What follows is a hilarious round of film references, self-roasts and digs at each other, with each star pitching an ad concept inspired by their own movies.

Ranbir is quick to turn the tables on him, borrowing another popular Don line to mock the idea. “Is ad ko jhelna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai (It’s not just difficult to sit through this ad, it’s impossible),” he quips, before moving on to his own pitch.

Ranbir's idea takes inspiration from his 2011 film Rockstar. “Ek Rockstar hota hai, apni life ka best performance deta hai, duniya hila deta hai, par stage nahi hilta kyunki vo Rungta bar se bana hai (There’s a Rockstar who gives the best performance of his life and shakes the world, but the stage doesn’t move because it’s made of Rungta bars),” he says.

But Alia isn't impressed either. She immediately takes a playful dig at Ranbir, telling him, “O nadan parinde, beth ja.”

Alia then pitches what she calls a simple idea, inspired by her film Jigra. “Sir, mera wala simple, ek ladki hai, uska bhai jail mein hai, par vo jail tod nahi pa rahi kyunki jail TMT bar se bana hai (Sir, mine is simple. There’s a girl whose brother is in jail, but she can’t break him out because the jail is made of TMT bars).” she says.

SRK wastes no time in roasting her idea. “Ise dekhne ka jigra kisi mein nahi hai (Nobody will have the courage to watch this),” he jokes, playing on the title of Alia's film.

After taking turns to mock each other’s ideas, the trio eventually finds itself back where it started — dancing to Akshay Kumar's Hookah Bar.

Fans were impressed with the ad. While some questioned the budget, others requested that they feature in a comedy film together.

One of the users wrote, “Cast them in a comedy movie together it will be super fun to watch,” while another wrote, “Dear @karanjohar, please cast them in a movie together directed by you.” A third user chimed in and wrote, “Okey now bring them in a movie together plz.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, SRK will next be seen in King. The film is slated to release in theatres on December 26. Ranbir and Alia, on the other hand, will feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War.
