The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the four major traditional festivals in China, carrying rich Chinese cultural connotations and historical memories. A full moon embodies the common cultural identity of the Chinese people at home and abroad.Β
In this video, Shahnoza Amirbekova, a student from Tajikistan, shares the customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival, like moongazing, eating mooncakes and enjoying lanterns. Shahnoza believes that the emotions conveyed by the Mid-Autumn Festival can be felt by people all over the world. No matter where they come from, people always have someone they miss, she says. Even if they are thousands of miles apart, they can still look up at the same moon.
