When do you get your SSI check for October? See the schedule - USA Today

Those who get Supplemental Security Income checks will get a pair of checks during the month of October, the first to arrive on Oct. 1.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are typically scheduled to be issued on the first day of the month, but sometimes payments go out early when the first calendar day of the month is a weekend or a holiday. With the first day of October landing on a Thursday, payments will go out on a regular schedule, according to the Social Security Administration’s calendar.

However, since Nov. 1 is a Sunday, checks for November are scheduled to actually go out on Friday, Oct. 30. A similar schedule happens in December, when the January check will go out on Thursday, Dec. 31, because January 1 (New Year's Day) is a holiday.

Supplemental Security Income, a program administered by the Social Security Administration, provides benefits for those with limited or no income or resources, those aged 65 or older, and those who are blind or have a qualifying disability. Also eligible for SSI: children with a qualifying disability.

About 7.3 million Americans currently get monthly SSI payments, and about one-third of SSI recipients also get Social Security benefits, according to the agency. Working adults who earn more than $2,073 monthly typically do not qualify for SSI benefits.
