A woman broke down while speaking about her exhausting work schedule as she shared how long hours, constant deadlines and financial responsibilities have left her feeling trapped in her job.

In a video shared on her Instagram account processingonrecord, the woman spoke about working until 1 am the previous night and being so exhausted that she skipped dinner despite feeling hungry. She also had not eaten anything by 3 pm the following day, as work kept piling up and everything was marked urgent.

โ€œI worked until 1 am last night. I couldn't have dinner because by the time I finished work, it was so late that I just wanted to sleep. I was hungry, but I was too tired to eat,โ€ she said in the video, visibly emotional.

The relentless workload had left her feeling helpless, with no time to look for another job or the financial freedom to quit her current one.

โ€œThere's so much work, and everything is urgent. It's 3 pm now, and I still haven't been able to eat anything because everything needs to be done as soon as possible. I feel so helpless,โ€ she said, fighting back tears.

She felt stuck in a vicious cycle, unable to resign because she had to provide for her family and unable to explore other opportunities because her current job consumed so much of her time.

โ€œI can't even resign at this point because I have to put food on the table for my family. And I can't look for another job because I'm so busy with this one. I feel like I'm stuck in some kind of loop, in a web that I can't get myself out of,โ€ she said. View this post on Instagram A post shared by S (@processingonrecord)

In the comments section of the post, several Instagram users shared advice and their own experiences of dealing with demanding workplaces.

One user suggested that employees should set clear boundaries instead of allowing every task to become an emergency. โ€œUrgency is an illusion until you entertain it. Never skip your lunch or dinner timings. No one will force you to work during those periods if you have set your boundaries clearly,โ€ the comment read.

Another user emphasised that constantly agreeing to tasks without communicating priorities could contribute to such situations.

Others, however, focused on the woman's immediate well-being and encouraged her to speak up at work. Someone urged her to tell her manager and team how the workload was affecting her health and basic needs, adding that she was a human being before being an employee and needed rest.

Several others advised her to prioritise personal time and warned that repeatedly accommodating urgent deadlines could eventually lead to burnout.- Ends
