A woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a guest house room in Haryana's Ballabhgarh on Saturday night. Her body was discovered on a bed in room number 201 of the One Star Guest House, following which the police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The victim has been identified as Chandni Kumari, a resident of Bihar. According to preliminary information, she had checked into the guest house with a man identified as Shekhar Ram earlier in the morning.

As per sources, the two went out together to get food in the afternoon. However, the circumstances surrounding what happened after they returned to the hotel remain unclear.

At around 8.30 pm, hotel staff discovered Chandni's body inside the room. The discovery prompted the hotel authorities to alert the police.

The body was subsequently sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
