Woman kidnapped in 25 seconds. Then, she reveals what really happened

A 19-year-old woman was allegedly abducted from outside her home in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain in a dramatic 25-second incident, but the case took an unexpected turn when she later appeared in a video claiming she had left with the man willingly and married him.

The incident took place around 9 pm on Tuesday in the Lalbai-Phoolbai locality of Ujjain. According to the woman's family, she was standing outside her home when two men arrived in a car without a number plate and allegedly abducted her.

CCTV footage of the incident showed one of the men stepping out of the car and approaching the woman. As the men attempted to take her away, family members and neighbours appeared to intervene, with some trying to pull her back. However, she was eventually taken into the car, which then sped away.

The incident triggered a police response, with teams beginning a search for the woman and identifying one of the accused as Dhruv Kumawat, a resident of Urdupura. Raids were also conducted at several locations during the night.

However, the case took an unexpected turn when the woman's family received a video featuring her alongside the young man. In the video, the two claimed that they were adults, had left home of their own free will and had got married.

They also requested their families not to put pressure on them and said they would appear before the police within two or three days.

In another video that later surfaced, the woman claimed that no force had been used to take her away. She said she had been getting into the vehicle when her sister grabbed her hand, and maintained that the couple had left voluntarily.

Despite the videos, police have registered a kidnapping case against the young man and his associate and are continuing their search for the couple. They had taken note of the videos in which the couple claimed to be adults and married, but the matter was still being investigated.- Ends
