Woman killed, husband and daughter injured as lorry hits motorcycle on Yellandu-Kothagudem main road

A 32-year-old woman was killed and her husband and daughter were injured when a lorry hit their motorcycle near Ninth Mile Thanda in Tekulapalli mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as G. Uma, of Kommugudem village in Yellandu mandal.

Uma, who was riding pillion, fell off the motorcycle after it was hit from behind by a Palvancha-bound lorry on the Yellandu-Kothagudem main road. She came under the rear wheels of the lorry and died on the spot. Her husband, Mohan, and daughter Jaithra were injured and shifted to a hospital in Kothagudem.

Tekulapalli police registered a case against the lorry driver and took up an investigation.
