Woman kills two infants, attempts suicide

A woman allegedly slaughtered her two minor children with a knife and then stabbed herself in the throat in a shocking incident near Chashma Achuzai Gork in Quetta's Hanna area on Friday morning. According to police, Sakina, wife of Hikmatullah and a resident of Chashma Achuzai Gork near PDMA Chowk, killed her 20-day-old daughter Hameeda and one-year-old son Naimatullah with a knife before turning the weapon on herself. The incident took place early on Friday, leaving the neighbourhood in a state of shock and grief. Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and shifted the bodies of the two children and the critically injured woman to a hospital. Medical staff confirmed the children's deaths while providing emergency treatment to the mother for her self-inflicted throat wounds. After necessary formalities, the bodies were handed over to the heirs for burial. Police said Sakina had been married for four years. Officers have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation to determine the circumstances and possible motives behind the tragic incident. Neighbours and relatives expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the two young lives, while authorities urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist the probe.
