Woman's body found in sack near Bihar temple, face bears deep wounds
A foul smell coming from a suspicious sack led locals to a grim discovery near a temple in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur on Friday morning. Inside the sack was the body of a young woman, with deep wounds visible on her face. Her identity is yet to be established.

When people noticed a foul smell coming from it, they became suspicious and opened the sack, where they found the woman’s body.
Police were informed soon after. Station house officer Devendra Kumar reached the spot with a police team following the information. The police secured the area and began investigating the circumstances in which the body was abandoned.
Given the nature of the case, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called to the scene. The team has started collecting scientific evidence from the spot as part of the investigation.
Police have taken the body into custody and begun the process of sending it for postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to establish the woman’s identity. Police are checking missing-person cases registered at nearby police stations to determine whether the deceased could be among those reported missing.

Police said the circumstances and cause of the woman’s death will become clear only after the postmortem report is received.
