Yemenis flee to Djibouti by sea as fighting escalates

Yemenis are crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in small boats to reach Djibouti as fighting intensifies along Yemen's Red Sea coast. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says more than 100,000 people have been displaced as a result of the latest clashes, mostly within Yemen.

The journeys come as Saudi Arabia launches airstrikes in Yemen and the Houthis carry out drone and missile attacks on Saudi territory. Saudi officials said debris from an intercepted drone killed a Yemeni resident in Taif, the first death Riyadh has announced in the latest Houthi attacks.
