YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) won Salur and Makkuva ZPTC seats that are part of Saluru Assembly segment represented by Minister of Tribal Welfare Gummadi Sandhya Rani.
YSRCP candidate Dandi Anantakumari secured 14,335 votes and TDP nominee Appikonda Ramadevi polled 14,270 votes. As the winning margin was only 65 votes, TDP agents requested for recounting, following which YSRCP leader secured the same votes and was declared elected.
In Makkuva Assembly segment, YSRCP nominee Marri Paramma defeated her nearest TDP rival S. Seethamma with a margin of 701 votes.
The YSRCP had won 13 wards out of 32 in Saluru municipal elections. TDP was confined to 11 wards and JSP got four seats. JSP chairperson candidate Gorle Vijaya Kumari defeated YSRCP nominee Ribka Rani with a slight margin in municipal elections.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Peedika Rajanna Dora congratulated newly elected ZPTCs and MPTC members and said that YSRCP would get more strength by 2029 Assembly elections. In Parvatipuram-Manyam district, YSRCP gave a tough fight and won several ZPTC and MPTC seats.
