Zoho's Arattai teams up with MapmyIndia's Mappls for easy location sharing
Finding your way to a friend's place after chatting with them on Arattai is now much easier. The popular homegrown messaging app now lets users open shared locations directly on Mappls, MapmyIndia's navigation platform. This brings two of India's biggest digital platforms together to make travel and navigation simple for everyone. What changes for Arattai users
Before this update, clicking on a shared location in a chat would open global default apps like Google Maps or Apple Maps. But now, when a friend drops a location pin in an Arattai chat, you can choose to open it directly on Mappls MapmyIndia Maps, right alongside the other map options.
This brand-new feature aims to close the gap between your chat screen and your travel plans. It means you can easily navigate to the exact shared address without jumping through any extra hoops. For many users, Mappls offers highly accurate doorstep navigation that makes finding locations on Indian roads much smoother.A smoother journey
Arattai announced on X, explaining how the update will help users on a daily basis. The company highlighted its commitment to making daily life easier for its users.
The post on X read: "Great connections should make life simpler. We're bringing Arattai and @mappls a little closer together to make the journey from a conversation to a destination much smoother. Here's to fewer detours and simpler journeys."The rise of homegrown technology
Both Arattai and Mappls have grown rapidly as strong, reliable Indian alternatives to global tech giants. Arattai, which was built by Zoho Corporation, focuses heavily on privacy and secure messaging. On the other hand, Mappls by MapmyIndia is a feature-rich navigation app that offers 3D junction views, live traffic updates, and safety alerts made just for Indian roads.
The groundwork for this partnership actually started in late 2025. Back then, MapmyIndia Director Rohan Verma talked about how great it would be if Arattai used Mappls. He mentioned that integrating Mappls APIs would offer users super easy and exact doorstep location sharing. Now, that vision has become a reality, showing how Indian tech companies can work together to build powerful, everyday tools for the public.- EndsAlso Read | Risk is real, be prepared: Sridhar Vembu says one person using AI can now do work of 10 peopleAlso Read | Zoho CEO says skipping appraisals was better than troubling customersAlso Read | You have no right: Microsoft AI chief says AI can't be conscious, humans did not sign up for this
