Shafi Jan orders action on Kohat media colony

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Science and Information Technology Shafi Jan has directed the relevant authorities to convene an immediate meeting to resolve outstanding issues and finalise the proposed Kohat Media Colony project, warning that no further delay would be tolerated. He issued the directive during a meeting with a delegation of journalists from Kohat led by Kohat Press Club President Noor Muhammad Bangash. Regional Information Officer Irshad Afridi was also present. The meeting reviewed progress on the proposed Media Colony and discussed various issues confronting the local journalist community, including the annual grant for the Kohat Press Club and other matters related to the media fraternity. The delegation briefed the minister on the current status of the Media Colony project and urged the government to take practical steps to address the problems faced by journalists in the district. Shafi Jan directed the concerned officials to hold an immediate meeting, review all pending matters and accelerate the process to turn the project into reality. "Unnecessary delays in projects concerning journalists are not appropriate, and further delay will not be acceptable," the minister said.
